Bullet question

I have been shooting Hornady bullets in my .270. I have been very happy with the accuracy and results on deer. However, I have been reading a lot about the Hornady SST bullet. I have exhausted my supply of bullets and now need to reorder. What is your opinions on the SST bullet?

Very good bullet. Do not shoot the Light Magnum loads at short range if you like meat.

gramps i've taken 2 deer with them in my 300wm,1 was at 100y & the other at 70yards,2.5year old 8pt at catoosa shot too high in the ribs,broke the backbone & a pass thru,no huge exit hole even though thick bones were hit,the other was a 4pt this past season,front chest at a steep angle,pass thru without bad blood shot,i will buy them again,paid like $35-$40 for them 6-7 years ago,got 1 left :) ,the lite mags are not for semi auto's,mike243

I loaded some 150 grain SST for my 30-06 they shot great groups was great. But when hunting with them they would just pass right through and would leave no blood trail what so ever. Took some boxes I had not open back and have a couple of boxes left that had been opened.

i like them they leave a huge exit hole or atleast out of my .243 they do

in a regular 270 I would stay with the regular Inter Lock

Thanks for the advice guys. With the regular inerlock bullet, I have never had a deer move at all after the shot, except for falling straight down. Guess I will stay with the same handloads.

Great I use them in the 270 w and the wsm,also in the 300. Awesome bullets.
