We put in a micro plot in the woods a couple of weeks ago, a mix of winter wheat, oats, and clover. It's done really well considering the lack of sunlight this spot gets.

The deer have been hitting this spot pretty hard due to the lack of acorns, we were running late and got in the stand at 5:00, 2 bucks came down the trail into the food plot at 5:15 and he shot him at 14 yards and dropped him where he stood. They were on us so quick I didn't get much footage but I got a little and the kill shot.

Main frame 7 point with a 3.5" kicker off his G2 making him an 8 point. Gross score of 129"

Awesome. Congrats. We tried a small plot like that a few years ago and it never grew at all

I watched the video several times. Did he shoot him with a crossbow? Sounds like you could hear him clicking off the safety right before the shot.

Just wondering if that is why he dropped like that. Very nice buck. I would have shot him too!

Dang nice deer. Tell your buddy congrats. We have quite the opposite acorn situation around here.

Do you have acorns on the ground already?

Acorns on the ground here and more than normal for this time of year. They are mostly red oaks. I listened to several fall yesterday afternoon, but the buck I was after didn't show.

He shot him with a compound, not sure what the clicking noise was.

I've found a few red oak acorns on the ground, but nothing to speak of, and no deer sign around them. I'm still waiting on white oak acorns to start falling, usually first week of October for our area.

Congrats to your buddy always nice when a plan comes together.

I'm still waiting for cooler weather and acorns to start falling.

Good deal! Spine shot?

It wasn't a spine shot, it was a little high but came out right where it's supposed to. Not sure why he dropped like that.

Congrats! When I saw that I was like WTH... I have never seen one drop like that with an arrow.
