In case you din't know it yet the regs for 2013 crappie at Sardis have changed. The size restriction has dropped from 12" down to 10" and the limit has dropped from 20 down to 15. Boats with 3 or more fisherman are allowed 40 crappie per boat. If there are adverse effects the limit will go back to what is was before in 2014. The limits aren't changing at Enid, Grenada, or Arklabutla.

Sardis does not need a change, But I am all for a change at Enid Lake, It is not anything to catch 100 crappie 11-15/16" long but you will be hard pressed to catch a limit over the legal length of 12"

I don't understand why they would do both, reduce the length and the limit, it's fairly easy to catch your limit where the regs stand now. If I drive to Mississippi to fish and they lower my limit to 15 fish I for sure wont be keeping any 10" fish. I can stay home and catch all the ten inch fish I want.
On the other hand if they are wanting to remove some of these 10" fish why would they not keep the limit the same or even raise it?

I agree. The only guess I can come up with is they did a shock and the overall numbers are down and there is a large percentage of smaller fish.

I also heard there weren't as many yankees coming down with the 12" limit and license sales were down, so making one lake 10" would boost non resident license sales. I find that hard to believe though.

Sorry if I was mistaken. A guy I know that fishes there regularly gave me that info.

My take is that they want to leave more fish in the water to potentially get bigger. They may figure they can better achieve this by reducing the size but at the same time reducing the limit?????
