Any of you guys ever plant any Buckwheat?
I read it is somewhat tolerable of not so good dirt...along with a pretty good soil amendment when tilled in...looking for something to plant on newly cut (tractor width) property line road.

If you're planning on doing this soon (such as frost seeding),
consider crimson clover.
It's a good choice for poorer soils, and relatively "cheap".

You can still do buckwheat later if you like,
but believe crimson would work better sooner.

i might do a portion of the road in clover.....i have about 1200 linear feet of road....some portions are way too shady to grow anything....the ground is very poor and rocky....any other recommendations will be appreciated....thanks.

I raise buckwheat for honeybees to work and the deer too.It will absolutely amaze you how much it will grow.Once it blooms,id mow it if possible and it will just reseed and come back.It will also be back next year.
