Buckwheat Question

How well would buckwheat germinate if I broadcast it in an area that was recently dozed (dirt is pretty soft, not compacted) in front of a rain without covering it. I know winter wheat does well with this type of application but have not tried it with buckwheat. Thanks.

Pretty good as long as you get enough rain and not just one smaller event. If it lays out to long with germinating birds will get it.
