Exactly. Also, that's why the necks start to swell and they become more and more hostile and "frisky" as fall sets in. They look and act like they're on steroids because they basically are.

Thanks BSK. I have read that fawns can born any month of the year, based on does with irregular estrous cycles. Does this mean that bucks actually still breed when their function is reduced during the summer? Will a bucks respond to an estrous doe by increasing testosterone production at that time (responding to environmental stimulus)?
