I read that this is the combo to plant if you want year round food plots with only 1 planting per food plot, per year.Whats your opinion? and... Is the buck forage chickory and oats worth the extra cost, compared to bob oats and other chickory brands?Thanks in advance for your info.
 
Chicory is somewhat of a perennial. Oats are an annual. In addition, chicory is not as productive throughout the summer as other summer crops. Now will that dual planting produce forage both winter and summer? Yes, but is it the very best combination possible? I wouldn't say that.

Just remember the Whitetail Institute is the same group that claimed in their ads that the increase in B&C deer over the last decade or so is directly related to the introduction of their food plot products.
 
I think it is simply interest in big-antlered bucks. We may be killing more of them due to better management, but I think it is more a factor of people being interested in having their big bucks measured and entered in the record-books.

Yes ,. buck forage oats is a 100 percent YES worth the extra cost. They are much more cold tolerate,.. and best of all,.. they were developed to grow fast but still remain tender. Most oats lose their tenderness when reaching 6 inches ,. and with that,. lose their attractiveness.

I have not tried BF chicory,.. so i will not coment.

A mix of oats and chicory would be a awesome combo,. but i would have to throw in some red clover or a annual clover like crimson or arrowleaf. That just makes its BETTER!!!

NO..your paying for the name Buck. You can find chickory and forage oats cheaper elswhere and they produce the same results.
