I've been working with my younger brother and we cooked up a plan to hit a wma after work. This his territory so I let him suggest the setup. Me on the ground behind a deadfall and him up a tree. An hour in and directly across from me steps out a doe...then Another and...four does and our trots a small 5 pointer. Then behind him two more does hang in the tree line. It's probably 40 yards so doable. I have no shot at the buck and my hands are shaking so bad I can barely hold my bow. I want the shot at the buck so hold off on the doe. 10 minutes later the buck snorts and takes off and all the does follow. Didn't shoot but man that was awesome!
 
can't wait till I have one walk up on me. Last year was my first year deer hunting solo and I know the feeling of a buck, even a little one, walking up on you. I was on the ground which makes it better imo.

I sort got doe fever this afternoon, if there is such a thing, I guess you could just say deer hunting fever... I was building a permanent tree stand and was on the ground preparing another piece of wood to take up into the tree. I heard something which I first assumed was the walnuts that had been dropping. Then it gets a bit louder and a little doe came busting through the thickest of the privet bushes, straight toward me, saw me at about 15-20 feet away and quickly blew and ran back, while another deer blew at me through the bushes before they all ran off. My bow was 2 feet to my left and my release was not strapped on my wrist and it all happened too fast to even nock an arrow and draw. I guess I picked a good spot to build a stand though. And it's on a spot I can hunt close to home.
 
What was really awesome was that he was standng just on the otherside of the bush I was using as cover. I wanted to stand up and step around the corner so bad...Oh well. Gonna try again tomorrow evening!
