Went to my trail cams yesterday around 1:30 in the afternoon and on my way out, a doe bolted across the trail about 100 yards in front of me... that wouldn't be a big deal if seconds later a buck didn't bolt through behind her.

I grew up hunting out west, lots of Black Tail and Mule Deer... this is my 5th year hunting (Middle TN) TN Whitetail. Isn't a little early to see that kind of action around here.

It's about time for the 1.5 and 2.5 yos to start running unreceptive does around. There may be a rare doe that comes into estrus this week and gets the old deer moving, but I wouldn't be hunting rut stands just yet.

Looking forward to juvie this weekend and hoping cool weather continues.

It happens

lol that's true. I watched a 6 point push some does in a bedding area yesterday. Then he bedded down right in front of me.

I had a 3.5 yo scent checking a doe in the white oaks on Friday morning. Big buck sign should start hitting the ground right now.
