I know this is probably a stupid question but does with fawns with them right now do they breed later in the year or what. I have seen many does with fawns just chilling out.

Good question. I have heard on here that the fawns if they go into estrous will go later, but i would think the does would abandon the fawns and go into estrous, then maybe group back up after they are bred.

My guess is, being where you are located it hasn't happened yet.

My first guess would be they are bred unless you are in the way late rut area. North AL should be hot right now. Lower AL gets hot in Early January.

Not in Huntsville, al. Seeing the does like crazy, but not any bucks chasing them. Could be going on at night but I have seen no sign of it.

Does with fawns only chase their fawns away for a brief period--just the 24-48 hours they are in estrus. What I'm getting at is, don't expect to see all does without their fawns for a week or two. It doesn't work that way. What you will see during the peak of breeding is just more observations of apparently "orphaned" fawns wandering around looking lost. But you won't see all fawns doing this during the peak of breeding, just the fawns of those does in estrus that day.

I watched an estrus doe being chased by two bucks last Sunday. Her button buck fawn was following behind the chase and mewing for his momma like a cat! As soon as she is out of estrus, they will be back together.
