I killed a buck on Sunday that was 2-1/2 yo.

Both main beams broke and had very little antlers left.

He had scars all over his body from cuts to holes and tears in his ears from fighting. His bottom jaw was broke and just hanging

for my question is it normal for a 2-1/2 YO to be so aggressive. His instinct to fight and show aggression was so that right before I killed him he was rubbing a cedar.

Usually 2 1/2s aren't that agressive unless few older bucks exist in the area. If that's the case, then they are "King of the Hill" and will act like it.

Sounds like he may have been hit by a car??

That's what I was wondering to. Sounds like he did it a favor with a broken jaw it would be hard to make it through the winter.

I thought about the car thing too
but the scars where from fighting
you could see the punctures and scratches around his neck
anyway he would have starved so I did a good thing by putting him down.
