Browning cams used to be terrible (a few years ago). But I'm hearing fairly good reviews about them last year and this year.

I bought a Browning Recon Force for this season and it performed flawlessly. I also have a Bushnell Trophy Cam and the Browning took better daylight pics. I would definitely buy another.
I bought one because they ranked so high/low price on trailcampro.com and I have had it out since Aug on one set of batteries. My old Primos would eat up batteries; cant believe the Brownings last so long. I actually pulled my card today out of it and its still clicking away. Highly recommend.

My experience is limited to the single Dark Ops unit I received back in the late summer.
I'll do somewhat a comparison of the Browning Dark Ops to the Covert Black 60.
Features I like better on the Dark Ops (PROS):
The Dark Ops is smaller, and requires only 6 AA batteries.
Nighttime pics are better; daytime pics essentially equally good.
Trigger speed slightly faster on the Dark Ops.
Can program up to 7 consecutive pics to be taken with a single triggering (compared to 3 with Covert).
Features I don't like on the Dark Ops (CONS):
The advertised "field scan" mode simply does not work.
I should have returned this unit over this, but wanted to keep using it as a trail cam, since it seemed to work well otherwise. Ironically, it's field-scan mode was the single biggest reason I had chosen this Browning over another Black 60. Go figure. The Browning's field scan mode is SUPPOSED TO BE programmable to work only during the day on field scan, while continuing to work 24/7 as a regular trail cam. By comparison, the Covert can only be programmed "on" or "off" in field scan mode, meaning you're simply wasting batteries and filling up your card with worthless pics during the night. But at least the Coverts actually work in their field scan mode.
Contrary to what I've read, this Browning's battery life does not seem as good as the Covert Black 60, although it's good enough. I recommend you use 6 lithiums when you load it up.
This is minor, but still a "con" --- the SD card intuitively seems "backwards", and is not as easy to exchange compared to most other cams.
I ordered my 2nd unit last week, and expect to get it out in the field for testing this week. If the field scan mode doesn't work, it will be my last Browning purchase, not because they're not RELATLIVELY good cams, but I'm just tired of buying items that don't work as advertised, even if they will exchange or refund, it gets old having to return or exchange anything because of inherently poor quality control.
If you're "undecided" between a new Browning or a new Covert, toss a coin, although Covert seems to have a proven reputation for standing behind their products and being quick and easy to reach (very unlike many other brands).
