They made two different models of the BLR, and I had the older model. I had it in .243 and loved it except for the weight, it was on the heavy side. The newer design had a alloy receiver if I'm not mistaken and was just plain ugly in my opinion. The old design had a straight grip, and the newer had a curved pistol grip. For some reason, I think they went back to the old design a couple years ago?

I hope at least some of that made sense? :D
 
If you get one, put a smaller sized scope on it, and leave the "rolling pin" scopes for the bean-field rifles. With a Leupold 1-4x20 it balanced really well.

Had one in the late 80's chambered in .308. Killed my first Mule deer with it at 350 yards. Nice gun fit and finish.
Had to sell it when I was in the air force. Wish I still had it it'd be a great woods tree stand gun.
 
Great woods rifle when set up with the low power scope. I almost bought one in .358 Winchester a few months ago, but I already have a .358 and couldn't justify having two.

great advice. hate seeing a small petite gun with the hubble telescope on it. destroys the looks and balance
