My father in law gave my wife one of these recently and it was not ejecting or taking more than two shells. I tried to clean it and it was so gummed up that i could not get the gas system out to clean it. I took it to a gun smith, but he had some health issues and has not been able to get to it. I called to see if he had found some time for it and he said no, but should be able to get to it soon.

He asked why I said it was not taking more than two shells and I told him that it was not and he told me that they call these guns a double auto and that they only hold two shells. I looked on line and the owners manual states it will hold 5 2/34 inch shells and 4 3" shells. Has anyone heard of this gun being called a "double auto" and why would the manual state it holds 4-5 shells if the plug is out depending on size.

Is the gunsmith wrong? should I let him do any thing with it, if he is wrong?

If I'm thinking of the same gun, the double auto from browning has a rounded reciever (like a gold) vs. the squarish/humpback type of the 2000's and A5's
