gonna put the 3.5-10x50 Vari-XIII on the old 26 inch Shaw barreled 700 BDL 25-06,,I aint hunted with it since i got the 300 RUM in`99,,I found 50 cases that I turned the necks on at some point in time but never loaded,,just need some 100 NBT and a couple pounds of IMR-4831..

this thing absolutely drives nails and it throws the 100 at well over 3400 fps,,I can`t remember now why I quit using it,

I've been happy with my 25/06 also. Out of a 26 inch barrel with 100 grain Ballistic Tips I've been averaging 3442fps. I have been a little worried about the high velocity with those bullets but the only deer I shot with it last year at maybe a little over a hundred yards didn't show any problem. I bought a few partitions in the same weight at the end of last year and may try a few of them at the range and see if I can get the same velocity. The hotter I loaded it with the Ballistic Tips the better the accuracy got. That was with IMR4831 also. Surprisingly I did get an exit wound, be it small, but he died in sight after a broadside center lung shot. I shot a doe at 200 yds. last year with the 300RUM and the results weren't as good as the 25/06. I think the Accubond just passed straight through and never opened. I wouldn't say this one drives nails but accuracy is good enough for any deer within my range. If I miss one it'll be me and not the rifle.

most times on deer under 200 yards I find whats left of the bullet under the offside hide,,looks like they swollowed a grenade ,,lots of bang flops..
