The other day I fully charged a brand new Exide deep cycle battery. The charger has the dial that shows lower amp charge rate as the charge fills up to 100%. So it should have been on a slight trickle and full according to the charger. The battery had no trouble cranking a 35 hp motor so it has a charge. But when I pulled it off the charger, liquid had leaked out from the caps and onto the garage floor while it was charging. It somewhat corroded the concrete where it leaked. Is the battery ok?

yes,the vents are very small so taking the caps off lets it gas off without spilling acid, the faster you charge 1 the more it will gas off, refill with distilled water, the battery is fine

Ive never had one do that with the caps on.Sounds like the charger didnt kick off when it got charged.
I don't think it kicks off, it just slows to a trickle
