Anyone know who makes this, and is it the equivalent of some brand name like Stren or Trilene?

there is no equivalent to stren. i have tried em all and no other mono even comes close.

I use nothing but Excel. Mono and Braid.

I use Excel almost exclusively. It is a little stretchy but just as strong as any other mono in my opinion.
JUst to clarify, I want to use mono to build tapered leaders for fly fising, and one company's 12 # isn't the same diameter and stiffness as another. So if I knew the details on Excel, I'll know if it will work well or not-so-well in a leader.

I don't know who makes it.
I use Cabelas No-Vis XTRA 10 pound test. It is the same stuff as Seaguar flourocarbon. It's diameter is significantly smaller than mono in its same pound test class. Cast's great and virtually no memory. If you get snagged on a rock or limb, it is quite a struggle to break this stuff.

Some other line company makes it for them, but I can't find out which. I use bps line 90% of the time. The clear and green is a little stiffer, stronger and has a little less stretch than the florecent. For the price it can't be beat!!!
