Anyone ever get one of these? How well are they inletted and what is the quality as the price seems low to me?

I have had a couple of them. Inlets have always been perfect and the quality is very good. Overall they are great stocks for the money. There are only 2 things that might be considered negatives.
1. The wood on the laminate version is soft and dings pretty easily. I have never owned one of their walnut stocks,
2. The finish is sooooo smooth that to me, for a hunting stock, it almost felt "slippery" at times. Mainly when it was cold and I was wearing gloves. That being said, I never owned one with any checkering on it.

Ok may get a pepper laminate with checkering for the 458 I am putting together.

Those were my impressions as well. I built up. A 10/22 a few years back with a Boyds stock. I really liked it.

I have one. I'll agree about the smoothness of the stock but that's why you get checkering. A very good stock for the money. You can do a lot of add ons as well.
 
I have 4 of them. Browning A-Bolt(2) Savage Axis, Marlin 60. All are thumbhole models

The stock design improved my offhand shooting from rotten to Ace.

They are heavier than they look and it ain't ounces.

They do indeed ding easy.

They do indeed look and can feel slippery but I have never had a problem.

3 of mine required some minor dremel work and all involved the safety.

You need to seal the inner surfaces. The raw wood is exposed, seal it.

If I had the coin I would have one on every rifle I own.

If you happen to get one for your Predator, please weigh the standard and Boyds stocks and post the difference. I'm thinking about one, too, but I like a lightweight rifle.
 
I have the boyds for the predator and it will not fit
I have 2 additional Boyds on a Remmy 700 and a Mossberg Patriot
Love those 2 but the one for the Ruger American Predator will not work for some reason
I've e mails them and they won't contact me back regarding this issue
 
I ordered a stock, it came in and there was a minor problem that was actually my fault, I just did not know it at the time.

I got a RMA, sent the stock back, they sent me a replacement, no muss no fuss. I also got a polite email letting me know the error was mine, which is actually fine with me.

Call them. For a long time they have been ultra busy.
 
I have built guns on at least a dozen of them. Most, I pillar bed with Devcon. I have never had any major issues with them. The checkering is nice but ads cost. I bought this one from Midway USA. They sell Boyds stocks for some models and they are cheaper than ordering from Boyds.

X2 Definitely get it with checkering. IMO its a good value for the money. They are a bit on the heavy side, at least the laminate one is.
 
Yep, heavy is the correct word.

I was able to accurately shoot off-hand with mine.....I like them quite a bit
