Anyone else drop their boy off for Scout camp yesterday? Alex and I camp a lot on our own and all previous Scout camps for him were father n son. This is his first without me. I'm jealous sitting in the office and miss him terribly.

that's a nice camp out there. i grew up just a couple miles from buck toms in rockwood and spent i don't remember how many summers there camping and working on staff. fun times.
He's in the same campsite (Stahlman) me and my Dad were at when I was a kid during Lad n Dad. Brought back some of my fondest memories.
We've enjoyed Boy Scouts way over Cub, although he really enjoyed Cub. I think there's more father participation in Boy Scouts compared to Cub and the boys who aren't in to it have been weeded out. Love and appreciate mothers in Scouting but it's good to see fathers step up and be real men and fathers.

I actually stopped by right as they were about to eat to drop something off. My office is in Hendersonville and I live in Lebanon, it was on the way. My wife was helping her mother in Gallatin and she stopped too. We got there at the same time. We thought since we were there we'd eat dinner with him.
His reaction, " You guys aren't staying are you?" we got the hint and left. :roll:
It really looked like he was having the time of his life and I'm glad. We left and gave him his space.
That was the first summer camp I went to when I was a boy scout 20 years ago. Up until that point I had never been interested in the outdoors, after I got back from there, I couldn't get enough of it. Fantastic camp!
