This should be covered in the hunter safety course. Another fee for another course to be certified to hunt? I don't see it myself. Granted, safety classes are great, but again, there is a hunter safety course already.

Just read the above article and to the comment in that to taking a class you will take more animals than someone who hasnt what a bunch of bull. Any body that has any years of hunting under their belt can tell you nothing can beat the real world. Certified experts, by who's standards? One thing for sure you can count on this being a requirement if the government can get another dollar out of you. Sure the class can teach you some basics and get you to a starting point but come on, being so bold as to say you will be a better hunter than someone who hasn't , really. I've been hunting for since I was 5 and learn something new every year that I have not read in one magazine or saw on TV. My suggestion is that if you really want to learn more find someone that year after year can put meat in the freezer with out the aid of $5000 food plots and so forth. And spend more time in nature learning from the only expert and that would be the animls themself. And I would stay away from state " certified experts ".

I routinely hunt out of state, sometimes in a state that requires the bowhunters education. I took it about 5 years ago at the region 4 office. Excellent class. I learned some things even though I had over 20 years experience bowhunting and it was a great refresher course on things I'd been though in the past. I'd recommend it to anyone who is serious about bowhunting.
