Bow sights.

I was at the shop today an looked at a few new sights.

The first was helix by fuse for $50 and the second was exr by extrme archery products for $140. They will set them up for me. I would like to upgrade from my single pin and I wouldn't have a clue how to set a sight up on my own.

Does anyone have any input on either of these?

Set that sight up yourself�it's not hard. Basically, you just loosen the old screws from the old sight, take it off, put the new sight on and screw it down tight. Stand in front of the target at 5ft and shoot an arrow and move the sight until it's on "paper"�hitting near the center of the target (just like a rifle). Then step back to 10yds, fire an arrow and move the sight in the direction the arrow is hitting. If it is hitting high and right, then move the sight slightly up and to the right until it is hitting where you are aiming.

After you get that done, step back to 20yds and repeat the process�your 10yd and 20yd should be very close to the same. That is the basics of installing a sight. I could get you really lost in the weeds fine tuning that sight with all of the different axis adjustments, but over the internet that can be a difficult task, but there are youtube videos for that as well.

There is a ton of videos on youtube that can walk you through the process.

As far as those particular sights, I am not familiar with either but Extreme Archery does make some very nice sights.

Its funny that you say that because so many people are moving from a multi pin sight to a single pin sight to avoid clutter.

I moved from a multi pin sight to a single pin sight and would never go back to a multi pin sight. I went with a fixed single pin. That is when all I thought I was going to do was bow hunt up to 35 yards and it is quite adequate for those needs. But I have started back into 3D shooting and for those needs I think I would prefer and need a single pin Slider. Something along the lines of the HHA.

If I were to go to a multi pin sight there is only one on the market I would consider and that is the Trophy Ridge React sight.

I think they have that thing down to a science. Sight it in for 20 yards. MAke a minor adjustment at 30 yard pin and your 40 50 and 60 pin is dead on.

Pretty awesome sight.

I still use a single pin sight. Dead on at 30 yrds. At 20 arrow hits 1 1-2 high. At 40 hits 2 1/2 low. Maybe not good for 3d but in every hunting situation I don't have to guess which pin to use. If it's closer than 20 I hold a little low. At least made my estimating easier.

This topic has come up a few times, I may be the only guy left that uses these but I'm proof that they work, I use a pendulem sight made by savage, I'm not sure if any one makes them anymore, one pin 0-45 yds, no guess work and I hit silver dollars out to 40
