just bought a used apple economy press...little thought and it works well. Problem was/is too much slack before it actually starts pressing and bottoms out before fully pressed. I put a turn buckle in the mix and tighten it first (by hand) then press. They sell longer eye bolts to deal with it...turn buckle does the same but many times better. Just some cheapy from TSC I already had.
Haven't quite figured out how to un press the bow enough to remove it from the press once the strings are removed, but I haven't tried it after using the buckle...I think it will be fine. Mine was 160 tmd.

Kinda hard to beat the Last Chance EZ green press. The problem with presses like Apple is that they aren't designed to press the modern parallel limb bow, without inducing stress into the limbs and riser.

I'm sure I could figure out how to press any bow with the apple press. Newer presses have taken older press designs and adapted. Ifthey can I know I can
A ratchet strap can press a bow...Imagine how much easier it is just adapting a press.

EZ Green is what I have. If you wait til Christmas time, for the last several years they have ran a sale on them. That's how I got mine...went ahead and got the draw board attachment for it too.

I built a linear press at home for $150. It was a pain the first go round. If I built another it would be done better than the first addition. If you don't have the tools to do metal fabrication at home then I'd buy the EZ Green...

EZ Press by last chance arrchery. Love mine, the only issue is if you have a 2016 or new Hoyt. The fingers cost $220 for them

A year or so ago 2 or 3 guys on AT had a price war on the EZ Green presses. The place I bought from was out of TX and he dropped to $300 even. I bought 3 of them and when the price war was over I sold 2 of them one for $375 and one for $380 so it was like I got the one I kept for around $150.
