bow hunting from the ground?

Does anyone do this? ive done it a few times with my Xbow seen deer never killed one,my dad has killed a few on the ground during bow season last few years, i will be trying it again this afternoon just to switch things up a bit.

I do frequently. The key is staying extremely still.

Killed my first deer with a bow from the ground. As others have said, the keys are being very still and hidden as much as possible. I tried the ground again last week, but the deer were able to pick me out immediately. Not sure they knew what I was, but they were very anxious and looked directly at me - I was not well hidden but was wearing a gillie suit.

I've tried it with an x bow successfully. Similar to turkey hunting. If you need to move to take a shot, wait for the deer to go behind a tree or something. You have to do everything right.

Did this morning but no luck. Saw 5 but got busted when I tried to draw back. One spike saw me but didn't seem to care that I was there

When I started hunting as a boy in Indiana in the late 70s early 80s we didn't have tree stands to use. I would set in the corner of a corn field with a treeline to my back in the weeds and kill alot of deer with a bow.

Started hunting when I was a bow from the ground. Have killed 90% of my deer from the ground. Rarely do I hunt out of a stand. I may have better luck if I do but I enjoy it. The key is to be very still and hidden as much as possible. I've his behind trees, big rocks or backed up into a thicket edge. Just whatever is around.

X2. My best blind is a big ceader that the wind blew the top out of and was still partially attached. Hollowed out the inside and it's been an awsome spot for several years now and have taken many deer with a bow, recurve, rifle and muzzy.

The four deer I got last year with bow were all taken from the ground. I like the ability to stalk a deer that I see feeding across the woods

If taken more deer from the ground than with a stand, I really like stalking on damp days when I can get the wind in my face and ease around quietly.
