From what I am reading based on the season dates, it is illegal for an adult to bow hunt during youth weekend. Just for verification purposes can someone chime in on the matter?

Pretty sure it's closed that weekend always has been in the past you can start back Monday after I believe

Maybe, but check your hunt season dates. Just because you read it here don't make it so.

In before someone says it's unfair to not be able to hunt your own private land since no kids will be there.

Someone says it...... every year

On the weekends of Oct. 28-29 and Jan. 13-14 deer hunting is open ONLY for youth hunters age 6 through 16.

And, to cut off at least one follow up question, coyote hunting with centerfire rifles would only be legal for legal youth hunters. For 17 or older, it would remain rimfire and shotgun with zsize T shot or smaller.

I checked the regs. Since you posted this right after my post, it appears that you think I am incorrect. Please enlighten me so I can correct my post.

There are some WMAs that are not open the same as the statewide seasons that have some bow hunting opportunities. On those WMAs, there is not a Young Sportsman hunt going on that weekend.

But, for private lands, and any WMA open the same as statewide seasons, the only persons legal do deer hunt the last weekend in October are youths age 6 through 16.
