I'll begin by saying I have a Browning A-Bolt Stalker with Boss in 7mm Mag. This was a gift from a business associate when I bailed his butt out of a crack. When he gave it to me, he had my name engraved on the bolt face.

I've used this rifle less than 10 times always going back to my tried and true 270, it's a fantastic firearm, but it just sits in my safe going unused. I'd like to figure out how to "un-engrave" my name from the bolt so I can find someone that will use this tack driver. It has a Leupold VAR III in 3-10.5-50.

As to your question I'm not real sure with it being a browning, but it may be cheaper to just purchase a new bolt head... assuming it's the bolt HEAD that's engraved and not the bolt itself.

I was actually being serious. The location and depth of the engraving will affect the options for removal.

Somebody with a laser engraver deal might be able to erase or cover..

Sorry I don't know the proper names of the bolt parts. The engraving is on the part you see when the bolt is fully inserted into the chamber. I was thinking that it possibly could be polished out
