Just spent several days in the Dyersburg area including the Tuesday hunt on Bogata. There are very few ducks now in the area. The Bogata hunt was a bust as we ran ducks out going in that never returned. That seems to have become the pattern there now as the mostly local ducks feed there at night and leave for safe ground during the day. We killed two mallards with five hunters and didn't see more than a dozen birds. The habitat conditions are very good with plenty of new water and food just all the ducks have blown back north with the south winds and warm temps. Not looking good for the end of the season again. The area was flown on monday and the overall count was down over 50% of the late Dec count.

I have pool 14 the next 3 days I don't believe i will even use the gas going up there. I may Sunday, still thinking about it. What pool did y'all have.

Where did you hear it was flown on Monday? What was the count? There was 63k on WL on Jan 1.

There are plenty of ducks in the area and I heard 14 was loaded up last Sunday?

We are seeing a lot of incoming ducks to the refuge that are not using the Bogota flight line. The seem to be using fields in between and north up the bayou ditch.. It wasn't like that early season IDK?

We hunted pool 7 and have had good success there before. We drove just about every road in the area wed afternoon. We drove ATV access areas , some private access some public and saw VERY few ducks. We had friends hunting in several surrounding WMAs , talked to the local manager, Jason that had hunted one of the NWRs and without exception the same reports NO DUCKS. We found one spot that they were using early in the week and killed 5 ducks but what was there vanished over night. I know they can become localized but overall they're just not there right now. We came home and won't be hunting the week-end there .......The flight report we got was from the local wildlife officer who told us the Monday count was 35,000, down over 50% from December. We sat at the WL refuge and I think that was over estimated by what we saw! just sayin" GOOD LUCK!
