Bobcat tag ?

Friend on Facebook killed a bobcat while deer hunting and carried it to a taxidermist and was told he had to have it checked in and tagged ?
Never heard of such.
Bad info from the taxidermist?

Got to have a CITES tag on it. The Region I office can get him sorted out on how to proceed. 731-423-5725 or 1-800-372-3928

I don't think it needs any tag UNLESS it is going to be sold for export out of the country. But, I may be incorrect on that.

Call the Regional office for the latest on any tagging requirements. But, there is NO check out needed for a bobcat.
