In deer season I watched a bobcat come under a fence tail but did not want to shoot because I was deer hunting only. He would come about10-15 minutes b 4 dark. I have several leg traps and he is a beauty. Can anyone give me ideas where to put the trap and what bait to use?he is using the same game trail that goes right under a fence. I am assuming his den is not far away. What is the best bait I can use and would you set the trap and bait undernrath the old fence since there is no cattle. thank you

1) Make sure you are using rubber jaw traps that are at least #1.5 but really need #3.
2) Put you a small amount of deer scraps about a cup under a tuff of grass or so. Set the trap back from that about 2 inches. Make sure to bed the trap a little in the dirt and sprinkle a little salt over it to keep the jaws from freezing to the ground. Set a trap on both sides of the fence about 10 ft from the fence on the trail.
3) Be patient. You may catch it the first night or it may be a month. Just check your bait every day.
4) Cats are easy to catch and this is the best I could do about tell you. Do a search on "bobcat trapping sets" and it may help you more. * If you find what is a small grave or something covered up nearby set your trap there a well. They like to cover their caught meals and scat up.
Hope this will help.

find a little hill of dirt or side of a ridge real close to where he crosses.. dig a hole bout a ft and a half put the trap where the entrance is and put sticks and stuff round it so he only has one way in.. than put deer scraps or rabbit.. and than u will get him within a week.. thats how i catch all mine

Make a Cubby set where you seen him with some type of carcas, if you dont have him within a week pull and wait a week and reset the 3rd!
