What all does a person need to register a boat in tn? Dad got a bill of sale from the previous owner and his number in case we need anything. I would like to know what all dad has to take with him to get it ready for fishing season.

All you need in Tn is a bill of sale and pay the taxes when you go to get the sticker....as long it was registered in the guys name you bought it from.

It depends on the county court clerk. Some require a notarized bill of sale.

If there has been an owner since the last person registering the boat, they will/may require the sales tax to be paid for that owner as well.

Some of the county court clerks make it almost impossible to get a boat registered. Unfortunately, TWRA can do nothing on that end of it. Once the sales tax part is completed, the TWRA part is easy to do.
