We went and got into a few and 1 lone shell cracker the other day. Had a fish fry last night, did some in beer batter, some in Andy's cajun, some the good ol' fashion way but the best were grilled on the weber kettle with blackened seasoning. I had never had bluegill that way but it won't be the last time!

We got into them again yesterday afternoon. It was hot as all get out but we caught a total of 34 and kept 27. They were all putting up a good fight too which made it even funner! They're hands down my favorite fish to catch and eat.

Grilled (or fire cooked) with blackened seasoning is underrated! Good stuff

That looks great I would love to get on a group of those with my grandson that would be memories that would last forever. I have never fished for those much we would catch them when fishing for crappie they would steal our bait and so we would put a small hock and a piece of worm on it to get the kids to catch something. How do you target the big ones? what bait u use? Those look better then anything i have caught in TN. :super:

We're using 1/32 oz unpainted jigs with red worms. When I met up with my buddy to go the first time I had a arsenal ready to throw at them and also wanted to stop and get crickets justin case. "Might work but doubt you need any of it" he said. I didn't have any confidence in his method but its the only thing catching them.
