here is an example of blossom drop that folks sometimes mistake for blossom end rot. this is basically a weather related issue and does hurt the plant nor is their any corrective action needed except time needed for the weather to cool down a bit. these are heirloom beefsteaks that are planted in partial shade and even though no diseases present and the vines are full of tomatoes, this is a pollination problem due to heat and humidity. heirlooms are more susceptible to some of the other hybrid varieties. it also happens to other garden vegetables as well.

My superhot peppers drop most blossoms till later in the summer. I have a good handful of pods, but won't see big numbers for another month or so.

I suspect with the peppers they need time to grow more foliage so they can produce the energy to grow all the pods.
