Well, as hard as it is for me to believe, I won the September 600 Yd match today at MSSA.

Thats 2 monthly matches in a row. Nobody so far has done that in our "Shooter of the Year" event.

I was also awarded a 2nd medal for small group.

I shot a 184 with 3x and small group was a 1.670".

That group was centered up good and it scored me 50 of my total points, and all 3 of my x`s.

Tim, You need to come down to AEDC and shoot 1k sometimes. I may try it when they have their next shoot. If I do it will be just for fun. I know my rifle will make the 1k trip, just don't know if I'm up to it. My buddy shot the state out there a couple weeks ago. He had trigger problems on Saturday and couldn't finish his relay. He went back Sunday and shot a 195-?X. Congrats on the 2nd win, I think its alittle more than luck.

This barrel will shoot Varget and RL15 impressively.

I cannot say I have resolved which one I like best, but this last match I used 30.4 grains RL15 and the 108 Berger CCI450.

Borden makes a seating gauge out of your barrel drop thats a neat tool for initial setup.

I just made myself a modified case for my Stoney Point hardware and see my seating depth was not what I thought it was.

I feel the best is yet to come from this barrel. My 4 target agg was 2.952".

Not what I am looking for.

I think the adjustment I`ll make first is added neck tension, and a better handle on seating depth now with the Stoney Point case.

The day I shot the 1.560" group was a Monday 2 weeks ago, and I came straight home and ordered another one for the Borden action.

They shipped it yesterday..............what service.

As a side note, I bought a few pounds of Norma 203-B.

I'm using the same bullets and primers but for now am using the Varget powder. I've got some of the RL15 sitting here that I use in the 35 Whelens and 308 Winchester and am pleased with. I may have to work up a few loads with it and see what happens.

I didn't get the Stoney Point but made a homemade seating depth tool from a long steel rod with two sliders with setscrews that measures from the muzzle. It takes a little more time but I feel that I get the measurement from the bolt face to the bullet ogive more exactly. It's interesting what the variance in bullets is once you start doing it. I usually do 10 bullets and then take an average and then using a bullet that's near or at the average length I set my seating die without that possible bullet variance included. I made a new set of sliders for the depth tool since getting the lathe that should do a better job than the ones I made on a drill press. I cut them down to the thousandth of an inch at 1.000" so I can measure and make the math a little easier when using the caliper. I've also made a few adapters to power drive my case mouth tool and another to drive primer uniformers, flashhole uniformers, and case neck brush. I'm going to make things a little easier on the thumbs in the future. I'm waiting on a shipment of goodies for the lathe which should be here tomorrow. Once I get enough practice, I'm going to make a spider and try doing some chambering and crowning.

What's the new barrel for the Borden going to be?
