When would you wager we'll see blind drawings results?
I remember everyone's surprise at how soon the big game quota draw results got announced this year, wonder if the turnaround will be similarly quick to where we get results by Saturday.

Since this system has been all electronic for a couple years, I doubt we can expect any acceleration. I went back to last year's email, and it came out the first week of October. I wouldn't plan to see anything before next Wednesday

Posted in the Priority Points thread that I do not expect to be drawn without any points this year, but that doesn't stop me from checking about once every hour...

Now that it's "next Wednesday," I'm getting antsy.

Well crap. Second year in a row to get iced out of Shelby Forest. Buddy got drawn, so I can probably tag along with him.

But I DID get (2) sandhill permits! That excites me more than anything

I got a sandhill permit, too. Got any tips for where they usually come?

Only in the Western portion of the state. I know nothing about the sandhill zone out east.

I meant more generally habitat-wise (shallow but open water vs. fields, etc.) but yeah, I imagine it's a whole other ballgame where you're at.

Around here, NorthWest TN, the only place I have ever seen them is feeding in open fields (no water).
The other end of the state I have no idea about.
Good luck.

I've not seen sandhills in any place other than fields, Canada, Texas, middle TN. Since they are not waterfowl, it makes sense. That's not to say they don't visit wetlands on occasion, they do need to drink after feeding like doves.
