Evan killed this 9pt, 19" inside, at 3:30 this afternoon , even as warm as it was, full pursuit of a big mature doe. Things are wide open here right now and the rut is as intense as I have saw it in several years. I love it when we have a huge acorn crop here in East TN. as these deer are healthy and really reading the script so far. Looks like warm tomm. but then a lil better for Fri -Sun.

Mike its been great here with the most intense rut I have saw in several years. Some are actually locked down right now but still plenty between does up and moving all day long. I just hope t holds for maybe another week??
 
As far as any kind of hunting, I live to deer hunt over the next 2 week period. If I never stepped foot in the woods other than then I could live with it. When the weather doesn't co-operate it feels like a wasted year spent waiting. Our "just prior to rut" time frame should be on the verge of beginning. I'd want to be in a tree even if I didn't take a weapon just to see what happens. The worry I have is that I think we've taken too many does off the club to make it as exciting and widespread as it could be. I haven't seen over 4 does on any set so far this year. The good part is that it doesn't take but one.
