I know this has been asked on here before. I did some searching but I guess I'll just make my own thread. I am thinking about giving this stuff a try. What are all the advantages of it? I think it's susposed to be cleaner & easier to reload. Is there any other advantages. I have only ever used Pyrodex & Triple 7 pellets. I know as with loose powder you can dial in a load to an amount of powder you can't get with pellets. However, I probably wouldn't do that anyway. Well, I mean I would until I got something I felt was good. I wouldn't keep playing with it until I got 3 shots in the same hole at 200 yards or anything. My gun(CVA Optima before the quick release breech) shoots fine to me now. However, I am wanting to change scopes and figure if I am going to switch to this stuff I might as well do it then & get the gun sighted in with the stuff. I guess I am wanting some assurance it would be a good switch because I got enough pellets to last me a long time. Also is it hard to keep the stuff in a speed loader for a second shot. As I said, I have only used pellets. I was curious as if the stuff worked its way around the bullet so when I went to put it in would half of the load only go in and the rest be on the other side of the bullet.

You might have to get a new breech plug or drill your's out a little. Some CVA's had trouble using blackhorn due to the size of the hole in the breech plug. I switched from pellets to blackhorn when it first came out and won't go back. You can shoot many times without any accuracy problems, cleans up with solvent like your other guns. Less smoke than the pellets. 120 grains is equal to a max load. Federal or CCI Mag 209 primers work best with blackhorn since it needs a little hotter primer to ignite. I carry a couple of the TC speedloaders the ones with 3 plastic tubes in the grey rubber top and just have powder only in them. I have a couple single speed loaders with bullets in them.
