Whats yalls biggest one so far I caught 10 in one day and none weighed under 3 pounds. The biggest weighed 6 pounds I was going freakin crazy. But like I always do I turned it loose.
 
Thats an awesome fish I hang at least one 5 pounder a year sometimes several. If i ever break the 6 pound mark again hes goin on the wall
 
Guessed this one between 4 & 5. Turned it loose.

Don't fish for them as I use to but still go some. My biggest string was five that weighed 26-4 and my biggest is 8-4. Both came from Dale H. My biggest yesterday was 3.75.

Had two in two casts on Priest one afternoon that weighed 5-12 and 6-2 on good scales. Caught them both on a chartreuse Whirly Bee. I don't thuink they even make that lure anymore. It was invented by the guy who ran Holmes Creek Dock, Ralph Coe and his then wife, Sharon Coe Rushton. Caught a ton of smallmouth on that lure. If you are interested, I caught them and many good smallies since, on the roadbed that fronts the bank going into Hamilton Creek. Both came out of the same hole, known as the "hiog hole" right infront of the dead cedar. :grin:

Me too. We didn't carry cameras back then. I also wish we had carried better scales. What we used was the old scales that were in the net handle.

Those were the glory days on the Hollow. You waited for the just the right combination of weather and water conditons. People thought we were crazy fishing 4# line with 1/8 ounce flys and spring lizzards up in the willows.

I saw Westmorland throwing a fly with a piece of buckskin for a trailer wear them out one one morning. He was fishing a hump out in about 40 feet of water and he beat us to it so we just sat and watched. I don't think five people klnew about that hump and it would only handle on boat. I'd bet $100 I couldn't find that sucker now if my life depended on it.

Thirty-five years ago, fishing the Holler, you could fish a week an see maybe five other boats and one of them would be an old guy trolling for muskie.
 
i've caught several between 4 and 5 lbs but i got one that was a little over 6 lbs, i was fishing with a 8" king kong swim bait for rockfish when that 6 lb smallie crushed it.
 
My biggest was something around 18 inches and from the Harpeth River. I want to try fishing the duck river now but with gas and the distance it won't happen very often. I hear the smallies are good in there.
 
I'd have to scan in the polaroid to get the pictures on here, but I've caught 2 in the 4-1/2 lb range, and countless numbers of 3 pounders from Tims Ford.
 
6 lb out of Watts Bar about 6-7 years ago. Caught it on a hair jig tipped with a minnow while crappie fishing. My 2nd biggest is a 4lb 11oz out of Dale Hollow on a float-n-fly.

For you guys that wanted to see an 8 lb smallie....I was in the boat the day this fish was caught on Pickwick by Rage Tail inventor Steve Parks and I took the pic for him. It was an awesome sight to see for sure!

Catch alot of smallmouth and redeye in the rivers with a Whirly Bee.
 
Ive caught a bunch over 6 but never broke the 7 lb mark, well not on artificial bait anyway. Biggest 5 smallies I ever weighed was 24 1/2 lbs on Loudon a few yrs ago. Caught several bags over 20 lbs on Watts Bar as well. These East TN lakes are full of good smallies! Hand painted crankbaits always got me my best results.
