Found this yesterday, biggest I've ever seen.

I saw one that size once on a cedar that was wore out. In was on a rub line. It was within bow range of one of our favorite stands on the farm we have hunted for over 15 years. I hunted that stand 3 days in a row hoping the buck that made it would come by. When I shared my story with my brother in law after that third day, he busted out laughing. He hunted the stand 2 days before I hunted it and watched a 1.5 yr old 5 pointer make the rub.

I hope your buck is bigger. Just saying that a small buck can rub a larger tree.
 
Sign post rub,multiple deer will rub it and more will come by and scent ck it,killed a nice 8 pt that cruised by 1 in Cumberland county

Yep, exactly. I have seen a few over the years but never bothered to hunt one thinking most of the rubbing was done at night.

Love finding big rubs like that one especially in numbers. Granted there may be several deer hitting it but it's a safe bet that it was started by a pretty good size buck. I spent a decent amount of time a few years ago hunting a ridge top that was about 500 yards long. No one else was hunting around there. It was covered with big cedars 8+ inches in diameter from one end to the other. Most of them were shredded and I just knew I was going to lay eyes on a big buck. I never saw a single buck.
 
Last one I saw like that, there were multiple cedars within 150 yds around that were shredded & I did see a big buck, probably 140 class deer, chasing does in the nearby field a few days later but could never get a clear shot @ 400 yds away. I wouldn't give up on that spot. Good luck.
 
I found one on my recent lease about three years ago so I put a camera out only to get pictures of average bucks but a lot of them and almost all at night.
 
That does not scream sign post rub to me because normally the same tree is hit every year in that case. It could very well be a sign post rub, I am just leaning against it. I tend to look at the height the rub was made to get a better guess on the age of the deer, but even that doesn't tell you much about the head gear it has. Either way I would be hunting the bedding area closest to that rub.
