My cousin (TNLynn) and I had a decent day yesterday considering that we got a late start. The fishing has slowed down some, but we still ended up with 7 KYs. We did lose two big smallmouth at the boat and another that we didn't see. I did catch the biggest KY that I have ever caught. It weighed 4 lb 5 oz.

Here is another pic from a smallmouth a couple of weeks ago. It didn't have as much coloration to it as normal. We had been catching a bunch like him, but they slowed down a little for us this weekend.

great spot! my buddy andy caught a 4 lber last week and several good smallies as well.

There have been a few 4 lbers show up in tournaments in the past month or so. A buddy of mine had right at 21 lbs a few weeks ago and two of the five were KYs. The biggest was 4.24. There was another sack a week or so ago that had four KYs and one LM that weighed right at 19. He had three KYs that were right at 4 lbs. I have caught a bunch of three pluses to pushing four but the first one that has officially broken 4.

Yeah. He had nearly 21 lbs a couple weeks ago with three SM and two KYs. He is on a roll. He won the BFL at Guntersville on Saturday with 29 lbs. He had two over 7 lbs.

Wow! That Spotted Bass doesn't swim, it rolls in the water. Nice!

That is about right. He was so fat that he could barely move and looked uncomfortable. He attempted to jump but couldn't get out of the water. I caught him on an ultralight spinning reel, but he still didn't put up too hard of a fight due to him not really being able to move.

he is on the water more than anyone I know. no wonder he is good. he is hard to beat in the local tournaments, anywhere for that matter.

Most of them do. A 2.5 to 3 lber would out fight this one any day. All of them are fat, but this one was just unreal fat. I wished I would have taken a picture of the bottom of its belly. I could barely get my hand around the girth. It looked uncomfortable and think this is why it didn't put up a super fight. It looked like it hurt it to wiggle. :) It was only a little over 18" long.
