I posted this in the Hunting Gear section but haven't had any responses. I'm looking for some new bibs for this season. I've had some Cabela's brand that I really liked except for how bulky they are on me. Does anyone have any they'd recommend that are warm and comfortable but not too bulky.

Sitka will fit the not too bulky category but your looking at dropping some serious dough.

I had a pair of artic shield. Loved them but was bulky and loud. I wanted some UA but didn't have the cash flow at te moment. I ended up with a pair of redhead from bass pro. I can't tell you how warm they are but I can tell you they are made well and not bulky.

My dad is getting older and doesn't do so well with the cold so we got him some Carhartt bibs a few years ago. He says it's like wearing a heater and has no problem sitting through all but the coldest temps.

Regardless of which ones you choose, I'd be certain they had zippers on the outside of the legs to help with putting on/taking off over boots.

Sitka fanatic. There's no comparison. I've had Cabelas, first lite sanctuary bibs, grey wolf woolens and none of them compared to my sitka bibs.

Actually the newer Arctic Sheild bibs are not so bulky. I bought my dad some for Christmas this past year. I also have an older pair though and they are fairly bulky but very warm. This summer I bought some Rocky bibs and love them.

I've had all the items listed in this thread.

The Sitka fanatic is without question the best of the bunch IMO. It's the one I still have and sold all the rest.

First Lite just launched some bibs designed for cold weather treestand hunting. I would definitely check them out.
I had them. The sanctuary bibs. I sold them, they were extremely "puffy" and I could see really quick they wouldn't hold up to much abuse. Still haven't found anything to replace my fanatic bibs.

I could tell they were going to be extremely warm and quite though.
