I'm heading to the woods now. Trying to figure out if I should stalk hunt thru some think stuff or camp out in a stand on a large field. Reports out if Hardeman County is that there is some rutting action happening. Any advice in hunting the rut in a cloudy afternoon like this?

I would say go with hunting out of a stand this afternoon. One of my favorite ways to hunt is to stalk, but only if the conditions are favorable. Covering your sound and movement are the most important parts in stalking so a consistent wind over 10mph or a steady rain are two conditions that will work. You can probably get away with trying to stalk with the wind being a little lighter than 10mph but there is nothing worse than getting into a good stalk it some thick stuff and then the wind dies down and your stuck for a while until the wind picks back up. Just my 2 cents. Good luck either way!
