Best WMA Trip?

So this is the first year that I've had a couple of extra vacation days unaccounted for around this time of the year. I've been thinking of making a trip somewhere to a WMA to get in a couple of good weekdays to hunt during peak time and with the least amount of pressure and hopefully coming across a mature buck. I'm shooting for early during gun season but probably not until at least the week after Thanksgiving.

I realize it's pretty late at this point to plan this, but in all of you guys' opinions, what would be some of the best nonquota WMAs to shoot for to spend a couple of weekdays hunting? Also, I'm in Middle TN, and up for taking a little trip but obviously the closer, the better.

Chickasaw state park has good camping and a lot of land to hunt. Rut should start about thanksgiving weekend and on.

Are there some pretty good deer there? Just being out in a tree of course is the enjoyable part, but I would love the chance at a nice buck obviously.

If you're not set on gun hunting I'd say LBL. I know it's not hey WMA but it's probably our best chance at a public land giant .

Listen to him! Between the users on here looking at the info and google search, naming places is a good way to get some more people hunting a spot.

I've done 3 solo trips to LBL and been on some good bucks. I stay in the small cabins at Piney.

Also, my apologies to basically all public land hunters in the state on here for posting such an open ended question - I didn't even consider the repercussions that could occur after that from simply a google search but great point.

Hopefully though, I'll be able to put something together for a good couple of weekdays to get out there.

I hunted chickasaw in Chester co for years, killed 2 of my biggest off it. Haven't hunted it in 15 years. I never seen another hunter in the spot I was in.

Chickasaw has a lot of land. There was also some recent timbering during past few years. It is basically sandwiched between north Hardeman and McNairy county....and Madison County. Alll 3 have produced a ton of deer and some huge deer.
