Ducks are still a little slow. But my kids have been begging me to go hunting. My boy is 4 and my girl will be 3 in February, so it can be an adventure just going to Walmart. But - to find the silver lining - 70* weather is perfect for kids. We slept in just a bit. Got in the blind around 7:30. I let them both pick a few small toys to take. My daughter picked a princess tiara she got for Christmas. Didn't kill a duck until around 10:00, but I'm not sure I've seen them have more fun. Ended up with 3 ducks and ~ 10,000 pictures.

I told my wife we would hunt until they wanted to come home. I expected a short outing. I had to make them leave around 1:30 so we could get back in time for the 2 yr old to squeeze in a nap. They both objected because they wanted to "stay and kill another one." Warmed my soul.

One of the best hunts of your life, for all of the right reasons. Congrats to you and them on having a great day afield and making memories that will last forever. Thanks for sharing bud.

Very, very cool!
It was funny I am browsing on my phone & the first picture to load was the one with your boy blowing the duck call. Well, at first it looked like he was puffing on a big ol cigar & I thought dang, that was a lot of firsts for one day.

Hahaha. Yeah, he'll probably have to wait until he's 10 before I get out the celebratory cigars.
