What do you use and have success with? I have tried several over the years and am looking to purchase this years supply. I have read about the Scent Away Bio strike, but have never tried it.
I made a poll to see what was most popular.
Lets hear what you think.
 
I've had two instances that sold me on scent killer, had a doe bed on a hillside dead level with me straight down wind for half an hour, and had a buck follow the trail I walked in on for 200 yards and never knew i was in the world. I'm sure everybody has instances like that with other stuff, but I believe it's what you have confidence in
 
A strong west wind.

Deer can smell acorns.

How do you think you gonna beat THAT?

Hunt the wind. Pray for a light rain.

And I have the same kind of encounters every year with using nothing but whatever the wife washes my clothes in. Sometimes we get lucky but 98 percent of the time your not beating their nose
 
I've always used scent-a-way. I don't know if it does anything more than cool me off after walking to the stand but I don't figure it hurts.

can't beat a deers nose; DaveB nailed it.

only scent control I practice is scent free detergent and I cycle my clothes in an ozone tub as I can tell this takes any smells out of the clothing.

I voted scent-a-way not because it's the best, but it's what I use. I play the wind, but it can't hurt.

Dead Down Wind etched through the anodize on one of my releases. I don't know what's in that stuff, but it's potent.

Wind, rain or time. Anything else is fooling yourself, not the deer.

Deer can break down odor and distinguish it at the molecular level. You can't come close to beating them.

Some deer react to human odor differently than others. That's why scent products seem to work sometimes. Not because they fool deer.

That being said I use an ozone generator in the tub I keep my clothes. More for my nose tho, lol.
 
I have used dead down wind and scent away... I mainly use the scent away earth scent more than anything. Probably why I don't kill a lot of deer. haha
 
I prefer the scent away that smells like dirt. I used dead down wind one year and got snorted more times than any other year in the woods. I'll agree, hunt the wind. But I've yet to hunt the hills where the wind didn't change, shift or swirl.

If by electronic you mean an Ozonics, then yes I have. The wife bought me one a few years back and I am not saying it is 100% effective but I have had deer directly downwind of me on a regular basis and they don't bust me. I do try to hunt the wind but I hunt public land exclusively (Fort Campbell) and if you have ever hunted here you know how hard it is to know exactly which area you will get and once you get an area which spot you will get in that area. So I may get an area I have never even stepped foot in before and sometimes you may get a setup that is not exactly where you would want to be. This is when I think the Ozone helps me out.

I do not use a ground blind I use a tree stand exclusively, not sure if I would want the Ozone blowing around in a ground blind and breathing it in. I know a lot of people on here don't like Ozonics but after the wife bought it for me for Christmas you know I had to use it.
 
I hunted using scent "Killers", cover scents, etc. for years.

Now I have hunted for years without any of them and usually washing my clothes in normal scented detergent (if I remember, I will buy unscented regular clothes detergent). I have seen zero difference in my deer hunting and I have actually killed many more mature bucks in the latter years.
 
I use a scent lok suit and shower and use dead down wind. I also wear rubber boots and hang all my base layers outside. 99% im good but still get winded on occasion. I think it helps to hunt the wind the best.

Scent AWay is great for other things, too. I used to use it on my son's smelly football and baseball cleats, stinky gloves I left outside, the dog, the dog's smelly bed, inside the car. I'm convinced that the stuff does what it says it'll do. Try it, find something stinky and spray it.
 
Most of the time I don't even spray down. I don't wear my boots anywhere except to hunt. If I have to go into town for anything, I have a pair of crocs I throw on. If I ever buy the spray, it's whatever is cheapest on closeout. The last was dead downwind.
