I bought a Sako Bavarian and a Varipoint to top it last winter. They are still in the purchase boxes because I don't have a good gun case for storage and transport. I want to get something that will absolutely protect them, and be legal and adequate for transport anywhere. What is the best case for this? I'm thinking a pelican case, but not sure about the model, or if there are better options.

My money is on the Pelican 1720.

Which ever one you get be sure to get a foum cutter, the kind that has a hot wire.

You said storage and transport; I hope you ment temporary storeage. If you keep your gun in a case long-term you risk rust. I always keep my guns in a safe, and take them out every month or two and wipe them with an oily rag.

Pelican case is airtight and waterproof...so yes I would store it there wiped down with rust preventative.

Sorry I spelled it wrong in the other post.

Which ever case you do get you NEED to get one of these. They will really make your foam fit tight around your gun and make it look great. I've seen too many people mess up their cases by trying to cut the foam with a knife.
