Sunday evening I decided to hunt a piece of property I haven't been on in 2+ years. Jumped a doe that was under the climber I left in there my last time not 10 mins after being in the stand the deer started pouring in.. In all there were 13 does and a button buck within 20 yards of me... When I finally decided it was time to shoot a doe I heard a buck grunt ... So I proceeded with a tending grunt and a 5 year old 8 came ready to fight.. I pulled the trigger at 20 yards and he dropped! Will post pics later

Congrats. But I gotta ask. Did you hunt out of a climbing stand that had been sitting out in the weather around a tree for 2+ years?

probably only 0.25% of all the bucks killed in TN are 5.5 or older... that would be quite the trophy!!!!

IIRC, I've only killed one 5.5 y/o in TN in over 30 years of hunting.

Congrats!!!!!

i have a 5.5 180+ inch buck and a 6.5 yo henry 133inch 8

congrats on a fine buck

My first I was thinking he was a 4 year old but my uncle who runs the fish hatchery in Normandy ... Took a look and informed me he was 5... He's a great buck and provided a hunt I'll never forget! That alone is a trophy in itself!

I forgot to mention he was stinkin bad if anyone is hunting Bedford or coffee county...the deer are really staring to get fired up scrape everywhere on my place and both my father and I saw other bucks chasing this weekend
