Looking for a choke tube for a 12 guage for turkey hunting. Any recommendations? There are a lot of choices out there. Who has the tightest pattern?

More information needed. What gun? What shells are you planning to shoot?

I would recommend a more uniform pattern, with evenly distributed pellets inside a 20" circle, at 40 yards.

Browning A-500R 28" barrel, open to different loads, I haven't turkey hunted in years so I thought I might try it this year

I suspect it takes standard invector choke tubes, not the invector plus tubes found in most modern browning shotguns. Considering your barrel length, I would not wont to go with a super tight choke, but only patterning your shotgun will determine what constriction and shot size it likes. Two chokes with the same diameter constriction (ex .660) will throw different patterns because internals of the choke will be different. If it were me, I would give the Pure Gold .670 a try first. They seem to throw pretty consistant patterns with evenly distributed pellets. You can also give William a call at Sumtoy custom barrels and chokes. He can give suggestions as to which choke he would recommend for your gun and will work with you until your happy with the results. 912-237-4360
