I have seen a lot of post the last few weeks asking about chicken liver vs. worms vs. chicken breast vs. hotdogs/soaps/stink/punch/all the other options... I stumbled upon something last year that immediately produced and I have used ever since. And it's been without a doubt By far the best catfish bait that I have ever used... rivers, lakes, or ponds, it just produces. It's called Bayou Bait. I believe it's mainly just rooster livers, but it seems to be tougher than normal rooster livers and anything I have used other than chicken breast, and it says that it's not edible on the container, so I think they may do something else to it to make it tougher than normal rooster liver, although I may be wrong. It's in a white container with the Bayou Bait logo and it says on the container "great for jugs, trotlines, yo-yos..." the only thing about it is I've only found it in ONE PLACE... the frozen meat section of PIGGLY WIGGLY. It's about $3.50 + for a bucket of it, which is about twice the size of a normal chicken liver container. I do a lot of jug and rod/reel fishing and it stays on the hook a 1000x better than liver, worms, or most anything else. Anyways, I hope this helps somebody. Like I said, I started to keep it to myself, but I started thinking the more people buy it, the greater the chance they continue to produce it so I can still get it, not to mention the fact that I have been helped on here by a lot of great advice the last couple of years...I have tried chicken breast recently and it's produced well also. I have no reason to stop using Bayou Bait, but I like the fact that you can buy chicken breast anywhere and there's no threat of it being discontinued. (Unless the worlds supply of steroids cease to exist. :) ) Anyways, just thought I would pass it along
