OR anyone else.

Got my Aug '07 issue of Handloader today Very Interesting article by John Barsness "Berger Bullets on Big Game" in it.Good thread on it over on 24hrcampfire ss well.

It looks like the VLD have a delaid expansion when penetrating of about 1.5" before begining expanding.

Was wondering if either of you have done any self expansion test of your own on the VLD's and if you found the same?

Was also wondering how the GM Kings compared?

Game kings work. Period :)

Never tried the VLD's though. I am gonna do a wet phone book test with some 168gr Nosler J4's though because my CDLSF really likes them. Sub 1" at 104yd all day.

Talked to the Berger folks at the SHOT show last year. They said the VLD is the only bullet they produce that's suitable for hunting. Looked at some ballistic jelly they had there and if it performs anywhere near that good on an animal I wouldn;t hesitate to use them on deer.
