I have heard a lot of good things about both rifles but which would you choose if you were going to buy a new rifle today?

You can't miss with either one. The Tikka is a great rifle for sure but the Beragra has a couple of advantages that have swayed me toward them. Accuracy will be at least good as the Tikka and the Bergara can use any Remington 700 aftermarket parts like stocks, triggers, bases etc. The other thing about Bergara is that I have gotten to know the guys that run the company a bit and they are top notch guys who absolutely listen to the wants/needs of their customers.

You cannot go wrong with either one based on performance. I think the tikkas might be a little lighter if that matters to you. Might want to look at barrel twist. When I was looking at a bergera several months back, the twist was completely different than tikka in the same caliber.
If weight was a priority i would favor the Tikka. I havent looked at the newer T3x series, just the older T3s and some things just felt a little cheap. In contrast the Bergara feels like its built to last. Basically a Rem700 "built right" including a really good composite stock. Pretty much better than you find on the majority of USA brand rifles for under a grand. Many of them are simply garbage stocks so they can sell them cheap.

Does Bergara have plans to make stainless models? That might make me buy one sooner. I do trust opinions and the posts I've seen on here about them being very nice and a good value. A big plus is that Rem 700 accessories, parts, stocks, etc. seem to be mostly compatible.

Bergara does use SS in the Premier series for both barrels and actions so it is possible the B series could see SS someday. The Premiers are in the same price range though as a Barret Fieldcraft or more. They do offer one model in a chassis type stock i see for sale cheaper but its a heavy beast. Hunting with a 10lb rifle just isnt my cup of tea.
The one at the bottom is my Premier Stalker It is a stainless action and barrel but then they cerakote it. I would. It be surprised if they come out with a stainless B14 model soon. In some regards I think they are just trying to catch up from all the success they have had. They have temporarily had to shut down their custom shop to focus on making production rifles.
