I am heading to my lease in Big Sandy tomorrow in Benton County. Haven't been able to get down there since opening of rifle. Anyone seeing any action there now? Any intel would be greatly appreciated.

I live in big sandy. I have just about quit hunting now. Duck season going on. I have had the hardest time this year with seeing bucks or any deer for that matter. I own 2 farms that for the past several years were absolutely loaded with deer have not been very productive this year. Cameras not showing much either. Think I have figured out though that coyotes and dogs are my main problem. Anyways back to what u we're asking about movement. Driving back roads to and from work have not seen but a few and I mean a very few deer in the fields over the past couple of weeks. No deer crossing the road in front of me either and that's odd cause I always see them crossing road this time of year. Just can't figure them out this year. Did see some hard chasing right at the start of muzzleloader but that's it. Not much since. Have a buddy that's having a very hard time too that was seeing deer early in season but now struggling to see anything. Good luck

^^^^about sums up my season so far.haven't hunted in a week and a half...give it another go this weekend...good luck(south/eastern part of benton)

I may be in for a tough hunt then. Beats the heck out working though! Thanks for the info guys.

lol saw about 30-40 does on the move this morning, in the central part. looks like they are bunched back up in family groups again though. didnt see any bucks with them. checked the barometer and it was 30.4 lol.

i used to hunt a couple of farms in sulfur creek area back in the early 80's, killed my first typical 10 pt there in 82. used to be more deer than you could throw a rock at.

been a couple of nice bucks killed around Thanksgiving on the sandy, a father and son killed a 161" and and 151" coming off of public land.

good luck to you guys and watch out for the yankees, they thick around big sandy.

Well, sat all but about 2 hours of daylight both Friday and Saturday with not so much as a deer sighting. Very tough conditions and very discouraging. Checked six of our cameras with nary a good buck and only a doe or two during the day. Ducks must have been flying though! Lol. They shot em up pretty good! Did see a Boone and Crockett armadillo though. Whew.... glad to be home and warm.
